The Lagos Geographic Information Service bill seeks to establish a centralized database for all geospatial-related information and matters.

According to Section 4(2), the proposed agency will introduce best practices for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across the state.

Improving Governance and Technological Integration “This bill is targeted at integrating governance with advancements in technology,” stated Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, representing the Speaker.

Hon. Ogundipe emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the state remains at the forefront of development.

Addressing Land Ownership Issues Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester, the Chairman of the Physical Planning and Urban Development Committee, highlighted the bill’s potential impact.

“The bill will guide the government to have a database of everything concerning Lagos,” he said.

Sylvester added, “It will also cut sharp practices and curb fraudulent sales of land.”
