Lagos Traffic Ikeja
The Lagos State Government has announced traffic redirection at Ikeja Along Bus Stop, located between Ile Zik and Conoil Petrol Station on the Oshodi-bound lane, from Saturday, August 17, to Sunday, August 18, 2024. The diversion will be in effect from midnight to 4 a.m. each day.
Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirmed this update in a press release on Thursday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the redirection is necessary to facilitate the demolition of the old pedestrian bridge.
“During this period, only one lane will be available for motorists traveling from Ile Zik Bus Stop to Conoil Petrol Station on the Oshodi-bound side of the road to ensure safety,” Osiyemi stated.
He also assured that drivers heading towards Dopemu/Abule Egba will not be affected by the diversion during the demolition.
The commissioner also noted that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be present to oversee vehicle flow and reduce disruptions.
He urged the motoring public to cooperate, stating that the lanes would be secured with jersey barriers and protective nets to ensure the safety of both motorists and commuters throughout the demolition period.
