LWC MD, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has fulfilled its promise to disengaged staff by disbursing compensation and other benefits to them.
Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, the Managing Director of LWC, announced the development on Friday in a statement issued by the corporation’s Public Relations Officer, Kehinde Fashola.
Fashola described the payment of the entitlements as “a remarkable display of empathy”, adding that move is in accordance with public service regulations.
“Engr. Mukhtaar expressed his sympathy for the staff and emphasized that the ongoing restructuring is essential for propelling the corporation forward and restoring its former prestige,” the statement reads in part.
“He emphasized that the audit should not be misconstrued as a witch-hunting exercise but rather as a universal practice aimed at enhancing service delivery and addressing identified gaps or issues.”

The LWC MD also noted that the restructuring process was aimed at stimulating growth and helping the corporation achieve its objectives.
“It should be viewed as an initiative to stimulate growth, create new opportunities, foster fresh perspectives, and drive the corporation towards achieving its objectives,” he added.
Furthermore, Engr. Mukhtaar extended gratitude to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the state government for prompt payment of the three months’ notice pay and two months’ severance compensation to affected staff.
