Lagos youth has organized an Awareness Walk to highlight their week-long activities in order to celebrate 2024 International Youth Day.
In partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the event, led by Pharm (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, and Engr. Ibrahim Olalekan Adigun, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Lagos State Chapter), began in Ikeja and concluded at the Alausa Secretariat.
During the walk, Pharm (Mrs.) Oke-Osanyintolu encouraged young people to engage fully in the Youth Day events, emphasizing that active participation would enhance their knowledge and skills, benefiting their future careers.

Engr. Ibrahim Olalekan Adigun urged the youths to seize the opportunities provided by the state government’s youth-centric policies and programs.
He remarked, “We, the youths in Lagos State, are solidly behind the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and will do everything in our power to complement his efforts. His success is our success and we will not let him down. That is why we embarked on a peaceful walk in solidarity with him a few days ago.”
The walk saw participation from Ministry staff and youths across various sectors, including members of Ibile Youth Academy, Lagos Youth Parliament, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Faith-Based Organizations, National Youth Service Corps, and Community-Based Organizations.
