The Lagos State Agricultural Inputs Supply Authority, LAISA, has assured farmers in the State of continuous support in terms of offering incentives that would boost food production in Lagos.
The General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Bolaji Balogun gave the assurance recently during the quarterly sensitisation programme for farmers held in the various districts of the State.
Balogun stated that the Agency will not rest on its oars to ensure the provision of necessary farm implements, agrochemicals, seedlings, fertilizers, fish feeds, and other Agricultural products at affordable prices to farmers in the State.
According to him, the agency has organised fora and other sensitisation workshops for farmers in the five divisions of the State as a way of enlightenment about best practices for farming and they were also taught about agrochemicals, its usage and effects on human and crop production.
He hinted that the continuous support of the government to farmers in the State, through the agency, is to ensure improved performance on their farms so that Lagos can become a food basket not only for the State but for the Nation.
The General Manager added further that it is in line with this developmental agenda that the State Government built eight farm centres in different districts of the State to give the farmers easy access to quality farm materials and implements at affordable prices.
