LaLiga: What Messi Said About Valverde’s Sack, Setien’s Appointment
Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has finally reacted to the current shake-up which led to the sack of Ernesto Valverde as the manager of the club and also the immediate appointment of former Real Betis manager, Quique Setien.
The Argentine international penned a farewell message to Ernesto his former boss after he was sacked on Tuesday.
Valverde was fired despite winning the LaLiga title in each of the two seasons he spent with the Nou Camp side.
But it is his poor performances in the Champions League and last week’s defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup semi-final that cost him his job.
Messi has now taken to social media to share a parting message.
“Thank you for everything,” Messi posted on Instagram.

“I’m sure you’ll do great wherever you go because besides being a great professional you are a magnificent person.
“Good luck and a big hug.”
Quique Setien has since been appointed as Barca’s new manager.
