Lammy Unveils New Aid Package for Ukraine

British Foreign Minister David Lammy has announced a significant increase in financial support for Ukraine during a joint visit to Kyiv with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The UK government has committed an additional £600 million (approximately $781 million) to aid Ukraine, comprising £242 million in funding for humanitarian needs and £484 million in loan guarantees for World Bank lending.

This latest pledge builds upon the UK’s existing commitment of £3 billion per year in military support to Ukraine for an indefinite period.

Lammy emphasized the importance of this funding, stating that it will provide “vital support to Ukrainians as they continue to endure relentless Russian attacks.”

He reaffirmed the UK’s steadfast support for Ukraine, declaring, “With the US, we stand firmly with Ukraine for as long as it takes.”

In addition to financial aid, the UK has also pledged to deliver substantial military assistance to Ukraine by the end of the year.

This comprehensive package of support demonstrates the UK’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s security and well-being amidst ongoing conflict.
