The event, which held at the Epe Local Government Secretariat, witnessed the presence of key figures, including the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, Eredo LCDA Chairman, Hon Monsuru Akinloye, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman, Hon Wale Anomo, facilitators, including Mrs. Kehinde Muibat Ajala, the LASCCWA President, Mrs Christiana Ismail and Mrs Sijuade Anomo, members of the association and beneficiaries.

LASCCWA said the initiative was targeted at enhancing the well-being of women and elevating their standards of living.

Mrs. Anomo, in her welcome address, acknowledged the guests and emphasized the significance of the empowerment programme.

She stated that, “It is indeed an honour and privilege to stand before you to welcome you on behalf of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Eredo LCDA, and Epe Local Government.

“This moment is significant as we gather not only as representatives of our respective local government areas but also as a collective force dedicated to the empowerment and equipment of our communities.

“LASCCWA has consistently demonstrated the commitment to social economic development and I am delighted to witness the fruition of that commitment through this empowerment initiative.

“LASCCWA initiative under the dynamic leadership of Mrs Kehinde Ajala, in today’s empowerment programme underscores the organisation’s dedication to address the multi-faceted challenges encountered by women in the communities by providing platforms for skills development, education and economic empowerment.

“LASCCWA is not just talking the talk, it is actively walking the path towards transforming lives of women and causing positive changes.”

During the discussion segment, women received valuable education on breast and cervical cancer, addressing critical health concerns.

Mrs. Ajala, the LASCCWA President, expressed gratitude for the chairmen’s support and shed light on the association’s purpose.

“We are 57 in numbers, some of us are in the diaspora. We are supposed to do this meeting monthly but due to one reason or the other we were unable to do it monthly and any local government we go to, what we do mostly there is a very short meeting and the empowerment programme,” she said.

“We come here to support our sisters and we tend to do that around the 57 local governments by the special grace of God. We did an empowerment programme three months ago; we had to do another one and it will be annually, God willing.

“This empowerment programme is basically to cushion the effects of the hardship in the country and also to support your government and we can’t do it without your love and support and encouragement and so we are Oliver twist’s we are not satisfied but we believe that whatsoever you do for us we will use it for the benefit of humanity thank you very much, she concluded.”

Eredo LCDA Chairman, Hon Akinloye, and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman, Hon Anomo, welcomed LASCCWA members, acknowledging their consistent support.

Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Animashaun, appreciated the efforts of the LCDA chairmen’s wives in enhancing the lives of women in the communities, urging them to continue their impactful work.

The event concluded with a photo session, capturing moments of joy and significance as the chairmen presented machines and equipment for empowerment to the beneficiaries.
