Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, has commenced a massive public enlightenment campaign across the five divisions in the State, as part of efforts to create more awareness and further sensitize consumers on their rights.
The sensitization campaign kicked off on Friday at Ikeja Local Government Secretariat with a roadshow, just as officials of LASCOPA distributed flyers to educate consumers on their rights and received complaints from residents.

The General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode expressed the need to take consumer protection to the grassroots in order to educate more people about their rights.
Continuing, she said that the mandate of the Agency includes ensuring that offices are established in the various Local Governments and Council Development Areas to make services accessible to every consumer in the State.
She charged consumers to take advantage of the existence of LASCOPA to report any infringement on their rights, as the Agency would do everything within the law to ensure the protection and redress of violated rights of residents.
