The General Manager, Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, disclosed this on a Traffic Radio 96.1 FM interview programme, “Side Mirror”, saying that the Institute is seeking approval to create a world-class driving range where professional drivers can practicalise what they are taught at the Institute.

Speaking on the complaints from some professional drivers about being harassed for LASDRI recertification cards by officials of Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) and Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Tiamiyu explained that all professional drivers in Lagos State are aware that they are to visit the Institute for their yearly mandatory recertification course.
She reiterated that the law empowers LASTMA and VIS officials to apprehend any driver that contravenes the Lagos Traffic Law in addition to getting a referral to the Institute for a two-day rehabilitation course.
