- LASEMA has recovered a fallen tanker just as the Agency gave a fresh warning to the residents of Lagos State.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says it has recovered a fallen tanker in Ikeja area of the state.
The latest development was made known via a statement by the LASEMA Director-General, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, on Monday.
According to the LASEMA boss, the incident occurred around Oregun area in Ikeja on Sunday night.
Oke-Osanyintolu, however, warned residents to abstain from activities that would lead to such incidents.
He stated, “LASEMA, in its several overnight operations, cleared several roads that would otherwise have been shut down by the traffic incidents.
“One of such incidents is the lone traffic accident that occurred at Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun inward Ojota which resulted in an overturned oil tanker truck.
“Investigation revealed that the accident was as a result of overspeeding and recklessness on the part of the driver.”
The LASEMA boss further noted that the driver was descending the steep road which led to the tanker crossed the entire road in a tilted position and spilled its content on the road.
