LASEMA: Update On Female DSS Officer Who Jumped Into Lagos Lagoon Emerges

LASEMA has given an update on the female DSD Officer that jumped into Lagos Lagoon.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has given a situation report, regarding the female officer of the Department of State Service (DSS), Adetutu Adedokon, who jumped into Lagos Lagoon.

This online media platform gathered that the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) announced that a young lady suspected to be in her late 30s jumped into the Lagos Lagoon within the Third Mainland Bridge corridor.

The agency explained that the lady alighted from a cab and jumped into the lagoon.

On further investigation, the driver of the cab alleged that she was in a heated argument with her fiance when she was in his vehicle.

In a statement shared on Facebook, LASEMA disclosed they are temporarily suspending the search and rescue operation of Adetutu.

According to the agency, the victim could not be found due to the high tide of water, hence the need to suspend the search operation till the body resurfaces.

The statement reads: “Situation Report regarding a suicide attempt at the 3rd Mainland Bridge by UNILAG Waterfront

“Consequent upon the arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the incident scene, on Thursday, 10th November 2022, investigation revealed that a lady in her late thirties (30s) plunged into the Lagos Lagoon.

“Further investigation revealed that the lady alighted from a Uber taxi car on the bridge and plunged into the lagoon.

“The driver of the taxi claimed she was having a heated conversation with her fiance before alighting from the car.

“The LRT, Men of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) collaborated together to search for the victim.

“The Agency’s Marine Team (divers) and officials of Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, conducted a search and rescue operation.

“After a thorough search by the LASWA Officials and the Agency’s Marine Team (divers) the victim could not be found due to the high tide of the water, hence, search and rescue operation was suspended temporarily till the body resurfaced.”
