LASEPA Boss Restates Commitment To Environmentally Safe Lagos Initiative

The General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Adedolapo Ayokunle Fasawe, has expressed delight with the tremendous strides recorded by the agency following the commissioning of a number of cardinal projects aimed towards providing a safe environment for all Lagosians.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the LASEPA boss was speaking during the handing over of an effluent treatment plant in Alausa, Ikeja on Friday, March 26, 2021; an occasion which also featured the unveiling of other projects embarked upon by the agency.

Fasawe, while noting that the commissioned projects constitute a culmination of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s six-point agenda, expressed delight that the projects would engender cleaner and safer environmental conditions in Lagos state which has had to battle unyielding environmental challenges due to its industrialization potentials.

“The commissioning of these laudable projects will further promote clean environmental practices, and healthy living amongst residents who are daily exposed to the Lagos environment in line with the THEMES Agenda of Mr Governor,” she said.

She also stated the need for everyone to take responsibility in ensuring an environmentally safe Lagos State.

“Today’s event therefore brings to realization, the need for collective responsibility of all, to ensure environment friendly solutions towards mitigating all environmental concerns and infractions we are daily exposed to.”

“As the Police of the atmosphere, we are committed to the protection and Improvement of the environment by adopting best available technology and urge everyone to embrace the same in order to make Lagos safe and conducive for sustainable development and business growth.”

The projects, which was headlined by the effluent treatment plant, also included an Air Monitoring Station located at six different locations, a Digital E-Library and a hybrid vehicle and were commissioned by Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello.
