EKO HOT BLOG reports that in honor of the Y2022 Public Service Week Celebration, the Lagos State Government has donated financial presents, household goods, food, and beverages to numerous orphanages, homes, and children’s centers throughout the State.
According to Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Lagos State Head of Service, the gesture is a means to show support for the children, homes, orphanages, and charitable organizations during the celebration of public service week.
Speaking Monday at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja during the presentation of the donated goods to representatives of the beneficiaries, Muri-Okunola praised the presentation committee, led by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Dr. Olugbenga Aina, for the impressive and laudable effort towards the success of the Public Service Week.
He maintained that the donation was made possible through the contributions of public servants and not from a government account, expressing his appreciation to all civil servants, especially those that contributed to making the segment of the week-long event a huge success.
“Let me use this great opportunity to, first of all, applaud the committee saddled with the planning of the presentation. As you can see, all the items donated were not from the government but from public servants to provide succour to homes, orphanages and charity organisations. This is quite impressive. I thank everyone that has contributed one thing or the other to make this presentation possible today”, Muri-Okunola said.
The Matron of Motherless Babies Home, Lekki, Lagos, Mrs. Modupeola Adebukola, speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the Lagos Public Service for the donation, praying that God will continue to bless and protect their homes.
