LASDRI General Manager, Mrs. Tiamiyu Afusat, emphasized the importance of equipping drivers with the necessary skills to effectively navigate and respond to road crashes and other challenges.
She said, “This partnership is also a testament to the Lagos State Government on safety and determination to explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing the nation’s transport sector.
“The capacity training will equip participants with the prerequisite driving skills and knowledge to effectively navigate and respond to road crashes and other challenges on the road.”
Supported by Access Bank Plc, the initiative plans to train 1,000 drivers in total.
DriveMe Mobility CEO, Mr. Damilola Odunlade-Akeju, explained that the training focuses on professional driving, customer experience, road traffic signs, and emergency response procedures.
“This is not only to ensure competency among drivers, but it will also create employment for participants, provide them with digital identities, and ensure that road safety is on a higher level in the state.
“We have taught them about professional driving, customer experience, road traffic signs, and health emergency responses in case accidents happen,” Odunlade-Akeju said.
