LASG, Magodo Residents Associate Set To Review Scheme II Plan

The Lagos State Government and the Residents Association said that it has agreed on reviewing the Magodo Residential Scheme II Plan. The Lagos State Government as part of its intervention of bringing the housing gap in the State, had create the Magodo Residential Schemes, strictly as medium residential estates, through the New Towns Development Authority (NTDA) which has the mandate to develop residential schemes for different driveway of the society.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako said that the solutions to the myriad of challenges enumerated above can only be found in the proper planning of Lagos State and therefore the New Towns Development Authority has released a review plan of the Magodo Residential Scheme II with the sustainability of the State in mind as the ongoing review is intended to make the residents better.

Eko Hot Blog has learnt that the THEME Agenda of the Lagos State Government has urged stakeholders to volunteer their contribution to the review plan and render their Maximum support towards achieving a bettering goal.

Top officials of the Government present at the meeting include the General Manager, Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, Tpl. Funmi Osifuye; General Manager, New Towns Development Authority, Tpl. Kunle Aboyemi and Director, Technical Services, Tpl. Bola Aliu, amongst others.

promote large scale physical development and also
Site select for other Government Ministries/Agencies and private developers therefore, the Government must ensure that they intervene to restore order in line with the planning regulations , which stipulates periodic review of estate schemes to need their needs” Salako stated.

Salako also stated that no development would be allowed and tolerated on Magodo wetlands, therefore CMD road will remain Mixed-use, while its other side is recovered as a buffer zone for the expressway.
