LASG Reiterates Commitment To Safety Of Lives Of Students In Public Institutions
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola has reiterated the government’s commitment to the safety of lives of students and lecturers in public and tertiary institutions across the State.
Speaking at a workshop for field officers on school safety survey organised by the Commission, in collaboration with the Lagos Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
To enumerate grey areas in school safety in order to proffer necessary solutions, Mojola declared that the need for a school safety audit cannot be overemphasized.

He added that the Commission’s mandate is to ensure zero fatality in public and tertiary institutions for an effective teaching-learning process as well as a safe and secure school environment.
He, therefore, called on school operators and management of tertiary institutions to inculcate safety habits in their school curriculum.
The Director, Lagos Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Bashiru Oseni-Ope in his welcome remarks said data collection is an essential exercise that will aid the government’s plan and manage issues relating to the safety of lives in public and tertiary institutions.
The Director, Public Safety and Wellness, Lagos State Safety Commission, Dr. Oluremi Olatunde asserted that the safety survey will enhance academic success and promote physical, psychological and emotional balance of students in schools.
