Speaking at the closing ceremony of the event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Nurudeen Olowopopo Way, CBD Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary/Auditor-General for Local Governments, Mr. Obafemi Ogunlana, said the objective of the workshop was to introduce participants to the concept of teamwork and succession planning.
Noting that leading a team goes beyond giving directives, Ogunlana said leaders should equip subordinates with capabilities to make them transit from mentees to mentors.
The Auditor-General also averred that the training became expedient because of the need to further provide the participants with insight on improved communication and interpersonal relationship in building a highly motivated and performance-driven team.

The Auditor-General also averred that the training became expedient because of the need to further provide the participants with insight on improved communication and interpersonal relationship in building a highly motivated and performance-driven team.
While maintaining that the workshop was designed to expose participants to knowledge about succession planning as well as vital skill and abilities, Ogunlana envisaged that the exercise would aid the improvement of participants in discharging assigned responsibilities.
He, therefore, urged the participants to make the best use of all they have learnt from the training programme.
