Lagos State Government, through the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD), has embarked on an innovative initiative in a bid to harness the potential of youths and redirect their energy towards productive ventures.
Fifty youths from Epe rural division were trained and empowered in Honeybee production and management, also known as Apiculture.
At the one-day training session, CERUD’s Director/CEO, Mr. Musibau Muyiwa Balogun, highlighted the vast opportunities in commercial honey production and assured participants of a ready market.
He emphasized the importance of making the most of the empowerment materials provided to justify the government’s investment and create a better life.

Each participant received a comprehensive starter kit, including a metal stand, wooden beehive, smoker, protective clothing, and boots, to kickstart their apiculture journey.
This initiative aims to promote alternative sources of income, wealth creation, and socioeconomic upliftment for youths in Lagos State.
