-Lagos state Government calls on all private schools to adhere to unified school calendar.
The Lagos State Government has reiterated the need for all public and private schools in the State to adhere to the Unified School Calendar and resume studies on Monday, September 9, 2019.
The State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo made this in an interview while ushering in the new session,she said the adoption of a uniform academic calendar enables proper planning and ensures pupils and students attend school for the number of days required in the term.
Mrs. Adefisayo commended the concerted efforts of teaching and non teaching staff towards preparation for a successful academic session, assuring that the State Government will not relent in its commitment towards capacity building and training, staff welfare as well as rewarding excellence.
The Commissioner also advised all students to devote more time to their studies, shun all vices including internet fraud, thuggery, hooliganism, rape, examination malpractice, alcoholism, drug abuse and cultism.

She assured parents and guardians that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in line with THEMES Agenda, will continue to focus on education and do everything possible to improve teaching and learning in all public schools.
She, however, expressed her dissatisfaction with private schools that resume a week before or after the unified date and warned that any private school found breaching the rules will be sanctioned accordingly.
