Lagos state government, through the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, has sent a warning signal to all encroachers of buffer zones in the built environment, saying that the act negates the Physical Planning laws of the state.
This was disclosed by the Hon.Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr ldris Salako during an interactive meeting with the press in his office at Alausa.
The Commissioner called for synergy amongst approving government agencies and urged them to be more deligent in monitoring and protecting the zones so that the environment would be secured and safe for human habitation.

He disclosed that the Ministry would intensify its monitoring activities to determine the extent of such encroachments across the state while identified infractions would be dealt with accordingly.
Dr Salako added that the Appeals Committee on Physical Planning and Building Control was in place to address grey areas on this issue.
