LASODA Prioritizes Education for Children with Disabilities
General Manager of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal has emphasized the crucial role of education in shaping the future of children with disabilities.
She stressed that education is a fundamental human right, as enshrined in the Lagos State Special People’s Law of 2011, and warned against depriving children of this right due to disability.
Addressing the 8th Annual Conference of the Deaf Teachers Association, Oyetunde-Lawal highlighted the importance of education in reducing discrimination, fostering social cohesion, and promoting peace.
She praised the dedication of deaf educators, calling them “champions of inclusion” and “agents of change.”
