LASODA Slams KFC Over Alleged Discrimination Against Wheelchair User

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has taken a firm stance against the alleged discrimination faced by Mr. Debola Daniel, a person with a disability in a wheelchair, at a KFC restaurant located at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on March 27, 2024.

In a statement, LASODA expressed its strong condemnation of any form of discrimination, particularly against persons with disabilities. “LASODA wishes to state unequivocally that it frowns upon any form of discrimination, particularly against persons with disabilities. Every individual, regardless of their disability, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect,” the agency stated.
Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the General Manager of LASODA, emphasized the agency’s commitment to ensuring that the rights of persons with disabilities are protected and upheld in Lagos State. “Discriminatory actions, such as those alleged in this incident, are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” she said.
LASODA encouraged anyone who has experienced discrimination based on their disability to report such incidents to [email protected], reaffirming the agency’s dedication to working towards an inclusive and accessible society for all.
