LASPPPA Organises Five Days In-House Training For Officers

  • Osinaike says that the programme is to improve the efficiency and productivity in various District Offices and departments.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) is conducting a five-day Technical Training Programme for Grade Level 08-15 officers to boost service delivery.

Speaking at the commencement of the Five-Day Training, General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl Kehinde Osinaike highlighted the significance of the programme, saying,

 

“this programme aims to equip staff with the latest skills and knowledge required to excel in their duties and ensure high-level performance in achieving the State Government THEMES PLUS Agenda.”

 

He stated, “the benefits and expected outcome of the programme is to improve the efficiency and productivity in various District Offices and departments/Authority as a whole, to increase compliance and risk mitigation, improve communication and collaboration among Staff.

 

“It also seeks to enhance overall Departmental performance towards organisational goals and improve image laundering and capacity building.”

 

In his remarks, the Director of the Development Permit Department in the Agency, Tpl Olayinka Alaka said that the facilitators with relevant experience were sought internally from various departments in LASPPPA.

He further revealed the purpose of the training and other trainings expected, he said,

“the training is designed to be a combination of interactive lectures, practical exercises and discussions, comprising charting, site inspection, report writing, vetting and recommendation, approval memo writing, regulatory compliance and legal consideration in the planning process.

 

“Other areas include technology updates and relevant advantages to planning framework and techniques, effective communication and collaboration skills for planning teams among others.”

Also speaking, one of the facilitators Tpl Jelil Oshota emphasised the need for training and retraining of staff, adding that LASPPPA would run more efficiently, boost productivity and increase staff knowledge with such training.

 

Mrs. Adesanya Waliyat, one of the participants, added, “this training is an innovation that will always help all Charting and Field Officers to be advanced in their fields, improve their workability and expose the officers to modern technology in their field of work.”
