LASTMA Officials Implicated In Alleged Harassment Of Danfo Drivers At 7Up
Eko Hot Blog reports that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been implicated in an alleged harassment of drivers of commercial buses, better known as Danfo, in the 7Up area of Lagos.
On Friday morning, eyewitnesses claimed that a group led by Ola Yusuf, a LASTMA official, confronted and intimidated Danfo drivers, raising concerns about the conduct of law enforcement personnel in the region.

Some who spoke with Eko Hot Blog at the scene of the incident accused traffic management officials of allegedly targeting and subjecting the drivers to “undue harassment”.
Eyewitnesses, who recounted scenes of confrontation and intimidation, suggested that these actions have disrupted the flow of traffic and caused distress among commuters in the vicinity.
Local residents and commuters have expressed outrage over the recurring incidents, highlighting the need for accountability and transparency in the operations of law enforcement agencies.
Calls for thorough investigations into the alleged misconduct have been echoed by community leaders and civil society organizations.
This is not the first time LASTMA officials and Danfo drivers have clashed.
In September 2023, a driver of a Danfo bus, Volkswagen ‘T4’ with number plate, LSR 966 YE, stripped naked after he was apprehended by LASTMA officials around Costain Round-About, Surulere area, Lagos.
The agency accused the driver of stabbing a traffic management official and trying to evade arrest.
