LASU Visitation Panel Tours Epe Campus, Visits Traditional Rulers,Others
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State University, LASU, Visitation Panel on Thursday visited the Epe Campus of the University.
This online media platform gathered that the visit was an assessment tour of facilities of the campus as part of its facts finding mission to determine the running of the university in the last 12 years.
The Epe Campus houses the Faculty of Engineering, School of Agriculture, the Pre-Degree Programme and the Sandwich Degree Programme.

On the team were also the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and Acting Registrar, Emmanuel Fanu, who were warmly received by the Head of Campus, Prof. Rafiu Okuneye.
In a brief address, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Rahman Ade Bello, who led the team, disclosed that the Panel’s mission was to see things for itself.
“We are happy to be here physically to assess the facilities.
“The assignment we have been given by the Governor is to x-ray LASU between 2009 and date. We have been interacting with a lot of documents, but we cannot conclude our work without physically coming here. Our findings will help us to make appropriate recommendations to the Governor,” he said.
Thereafter, the team, Intent on ascertaining the status of LASU’s relationship with her host communities, embarked on courtesy visits to the Commandant, Nigerian Ordnance School; the Oloja of Epe Kingdom and the Olu of Epe Kingdom, respectively.
At the Nigerian Army Ordinance School, the Commandant, Maj. Gen. Adeyemi Alabi, who expressed his pleasure at the visit, engage the Chairman on areas of mutual benefit for the LASU Campus and military barrack, which hosts the campus.
At the palaces of the Oloja of Epe, HRM, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun and the Olu of Epe, HRM, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, the traditional rulers who warmly received the officials expressed their pleasure at the visit and prayed for sustained peace and progress of the university.
