Eko hot blog reports that the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a fraudulent recruitment scheme targeting aspiring primary school teachers in Lagos State.

The scam, which has been circulating online, falsely advertises teaching positions and demands that individuals complete recruitment forms through certain websites.

In an official statement signed by Dr. A.S. Hakeem Shittu, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, the Board categorically disassociated itself from these deceptive job advertisements, emphasizing that they are entirely fraudulent and intended to deceive and defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

The Board made it clear that it has not engaged any individual or third-party websites to handle or advertise teaching vacancies on its behalf.

LASUBEB further urged the public to disregard any such job advertisements and to exercise caution in dealing with unsolicited job offers, particularly those requiring the submission of personal details or payment for registration.

“LASUBEB has not authorized any recruitment drive via online platforms, and we strongly advise the public to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to these scams,” Dr. Shittu stated.

“If you receive any email or message claiming to offer teaching opportunities on behalf of the Board, please disregard it immediately.”

The Board urged anyone who has already engaged with these fraudulent websites or individuals to cease communication immediately and refrain from making any payments or sharing sensitive personal information.

The public is advised to stay informed and report any suspicious activities related to this scam to the appropriate authorities.

This warning comes at a time when job seekers are increasingly vulnerable to scams, particularly those exploiting the high demand for teaching positions in Lagos State.

The Board’s alert serves as a crucial reminder for individuals to verify the authenticity of job offers and to rely solely on official sources for employment information.
