LASUTH Inaugurates Dental Centre

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, in conjunction with Oasis Dental Clinic has inaugurated a dental clinic to enhance oral health.

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo said this at the unveiling of the LASUTH/OASIS Dental Centre on Monday in Lagos.

Fabamwo said the centre would provide a variety of dental solutions, from preventive care to more advanced procedures for clients who desired fast-tracked and exclusive private care.

“This allows patients to receive the most optimal treatment possible while being able to enjoy a relaxed and comfortable environment,” he said.

According to him, Oasis clinic provides the equipment while LASUTH consultants will handle the clinical services at the centre.

“So, in order to make matters very clear, it is not that we are running a private dental clinic within LASUTH.

“It is an alternative partnership dental care for clients who desire a fast-track access to dental services,” Fabamwo said.

He said that through the partnership, LASUTH was contributing to the national effort to retain medical personnel within the country.

“Because, as we all know, one of the reasons why the ‘Japa’ syndrome is rampant is the unceasing complaints about the not-so-conducive work environment,” he said.

Similarly, Mr Frederick John, representative of Oasis Dental Clinic, said the partnership with LASUTH represented a significant step towards delivering full dental care services to citizens.

“Our shared vision is to provide exceptional patient-centred care.

“We understand that access to quality health care is a fundamental right and through this collaboration, we aim to set new standards for both accessibility and quality,” he said.

John said the centre would leverage the expertise of its team of personnel to offer the highest level of care and personalised treatment to patients.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the centre, sited within the Sustainable Development Goal building at LASUTH, will offer services like teeth cleaning, fillings, tooth extractions, braces, oral surgery, among others.
