Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has sworn in the winner of the Cross River North senatorial bye-election, Stephen Odey.
Odey could not take his oath of office on Tuesday because of a federal court order halting his swearing-in.
However, the legal issue seemed to have been resolved as Senator Lawan, during Wednesday’s plenary, invited him into the chamber to take the oath.

The Clerk of the Senate, Dauda Ibrahim El-Ladan, administered the oath of allegiance on Odey.
Eko Hot Blog recalls that INEC had declared Odey winner of the Saturday, December 5 bye-election held at Ogoja for the northern senatorial zone, having garnered 129,207 votes to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Again, SAN, who scored 19,165 votes to place second.
The electoral body issued a certificate of return to Odey as the authentic winner on December 8.
