The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has confined its willingness to fulfill the waste evacuation needs of residents during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities, to improve the State Government’s vision of ascertaining a cleaner, hygienic and livable atmosphere in Lagos State.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, disclosed that the Authority would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the season is celebrated in a clean environment, despite the anticipated 100 percent increase in waste generation during the yuletide.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Ibrahim disclosed that the Authority has strengthened efforts on street and highway sanitation across the State, adding that PSP operators have been mandated to work round the clock in their assigned areas of operation, while the Agency would provide backup trucks.
Odumboni further stated that to ensure effective sanitation assistance is provided during the yuletide, members of LAWMA’s management team have been appointed to different locations in the metropolis to monitor the situation of the environment.

The Managing Director admonished residents to desist from acts capable of polluting the environment and threatening its inhabitants, appealing to motorists to drive with caution to ensure the beings of street sweepers and other service providers.
