A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ebute Meta Lagos on Wednesday remanded a 27-year-old legal counsel, ThankGod Nwedukwu, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl in Custodial Centre.
Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo, who
presided over the court ordered that he be remanded in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, pending when the case would be filed at the Ikeja Sexual and Domestic Violence Court. The police charged Nwedukwu with defilement.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 19, about 7. 30p.m, at No. 96, Herbert Macaulay St. Ebute Meta. He alleged that the defendant defiled the teenager.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State which prescribes life imprisonment for convicts.
He pleaded not guilty.
The matter has been adjourned until March 11 for mention.
