Eko Hot Blog reports that a university lecturer who went viral last month for proposing to his student girlfriend on Valentine’s Day has now announced their wedding date.

Wisdom Anucha, a lecturer at Abia State University, proposed to Grace, a student in the Optometry Department, in front of her classmates.

“With the consent of our parents, we, Grace and Wisdom, with every sense of humility, respect and responsibility, most humbly wish to invite you as a special guest as ‘We’ walk down the aisle,” Anucha wrote on Facebook. The wedding will take place on April 6, 2024 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Umuocham.

Videos and photos of the classroom proposal quickly spread on social media in February.

They showed Anucha getting down on one knee as Grace sat astonished among her peers. The surprise proposal came with a ring that Anucha offered to his girlfriend.

The upcoming nuptials have been met with congratulations online. “Please kindly treat this as an official invite. We covet your prayers as we embark on this journey for life,” Anucha said. The wedding reception will take place at Ngwa High School in Aba after the church ceremony.
