Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented NYSC/Trainee Legal Associate to join our client’s legal team. This role is ideal for recent law graduates or entry-level legal professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in corporate, commercial, and litigation law. The selected candidate will work closely with senior lawyers, assisting with legal research, drafting, contract review, case preparation, and client advisory services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Research & Documentation:
- Conduct in-depth legal research on case laws, statutes, regulations, and precedents.
- Prepare legal memoranda, case summaries, and reports for internal and client use.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Assist in preparing legal arguments, pleadings, and motions.
- Attend court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and client meetings alongside senior lawyers.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring compliance with court procedures.
Corporate & Commercial Law Support:
- Assist in drafting corporate documents, including shareholders’ agreements, board resolutions, and regulatory filings.
- Support due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international legal regulations.
Client Advisory & Communication:
- Engage with clients under supervision to gather information and clarify legal issues.
- Draft legal correspondence and liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
Regulatory & Compliance Assistance:
- Monitor and analyze changes in legal and regulatory frameworks affecting clients.
- Assist in drafting compliance policies and reports.
- Support internal compliance processes and uphold professional legal standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational & Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university.
- Completion of the Nigerian Law School and admission to the Nigerian Bar is mandatory.
- Must be currently undergoing NYSC or have recently completed the program.
- A minimum of a Second Class Upper degree from the Nigerian Law School and/or university is preferred, though candidates with a strong CGPA and relevant experience may be considered.
Technical Skills:
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
- Excellent drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of litigation procedures and corporate law principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Salary
N200,000 per month.
