The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says the state government was not involved in the Lekki Toll-Gate shooting which occurred on Tuesday.
He said this while speaking during an interview with Arise TV.
Sanwo-Olu, while said he did not give any order to soldiers, adding that state governors have no authority over military operatives.
Recall the governor had during an interview said the military operative discharged to the location of the shooting was what he described as “powers beyond our control.”
While speaking on the reportedly removed CCTV cameras, the governor stated that the items removed were car scanners and not the cameras.
He further stated that the light turned off happened to be a coincidental occurrence, clarifying that LCC in their discretion as a private investor chose to put off the light on nobody’s orders.
Governor Sanwo-Olu while speaking with the interviewers mentioned he made calls to President Buhari in relation to the attack but was not given any feedback.
While urging Lagosians to come together for genuine reconciliation, he stated that the investigation panel will be constituted and inaugurated latest by Monday.
