#LekkiMassacre: “He Can Find It But Can’t Find Stable Power Supply” – Nigerians Attack Fashola Over Mystery Camera Discovery

Nigeria minister of works and housing, Babatunde Raji, has come under unrelenting scathing remarks and sarcastic comments following his discovery of a mystery camera at the Lekki toll-gate.

Lekki toll-gate is the protest ground of the EndSARS demonstrators who converged at the spot for two weeks demanding an end to police brutality and also agitating for police reform.

But what started as a peaceful protest spiralled into a well thought out carnage after men of the Nigerian army opened fire on the protesters last week, killing at least nine persons.

The incident sparked widespread outrage both ocally and internationally with former united states secretary of state, Hilary Clinton, and the democrats presidential candidate for the 2020 US election, Joe Biden, condemning the use of brute and excessive force on the unarmed protesters.

Subsequently, the toll-gate was razed and looted in the chain of mind-numbing havoc wreaked by hoodlums who went on rampage in the aftermath of the shooting.

In the preceding days following the shooting and destruction, the toll-gate was visited by many people including Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a couple of cleaners who volunteered to clean up the place and Arise TV crew, who made live coverage of the scene and also accessed the level of damage done to toll-gate. Many individuals and security operatives were also at the scene.

None of the aforementioned people spotted a camera at the scene.

But in a bizarre twist of event, the former Lagos state governor, while touring the toll-gate yesterday alongside other south west governors, discovered the hitherto elusive camera.

“I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the  Lekki Toll Gate.

“It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.” He said.

Nigerians have, however, expressed their misgivings with the minister’s discovery, with many saying it’s part of the government’s plan to convolute investigations into the Lekki Massacre.

In a remark couched in a derisive garb, one Twitter user, identified simply as Tosin, said “Fashola can find a camera from nowhere but can’t find stable power supply. Naija our country 🤡😂”
