Senator David Mark, the former President of the Senate, has urged people to actively imbibe the culture of religious diversity and peaceful coexistence in order to actualize prosperity for the benefit of all as Nigeria joins the rest of the world in celebrating Easter this year.
Even as Senator Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy President of the Senate, stated that the nation’s mounting problems could be effectively resolved if Nigerians unite in love, tolerance, and every sense of justice and sacrifice as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In an Abuja statement issued by his media aide, Paul Mumeh, Mark said that religion, rather than the later-day edition, should be the elixir for harmony, good neighborliness, and growth.
“All men and women of good conscience must rise up and make a positive difference in our country,” he said.
In a statement issued in Abuja by his media aide, Uche Anichukwu, Ekweremadu expressed regret that the country had regressed significantly because love had grown cold and inequality had become palpable, resulting in bad blood, disunity, and incompetence even in the most important matters that affect the country.
“Before there was ever a resurrection, as reflected by Easter, there was sacrifice, as symbolized by Good Friday.

“As a result, we are reminded at Easter by Christ’s sacrifice, who paid the ultimate price for mankind’s redemption, that we can genuinely restore Nigeria to its former glory if we sacrifice ethno-religious and numerous other narrow interests for the country’s common good and progress,” Ekweremadu said.
