LG Boss Surrender Himself For COVID-19 Test At Epe Centre

Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya, The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, today got his sample collected for testing at the newly setup COVID-19 testing centre in Epe.

Adesanya, while speaking with EkoHotBlog at the testing centre situated at the Epe Primary Healthcare Centre, Itaopo in Epe.

He said that he decided to surrender himself for testing to encourage residents to also voluntarily come out for testing.

The Chairman urged residents to patronize the centre and also avoid stigmatizing those who test positive, as it is not a death sentence If detected and attended to early enough.

Also speaking with our Correspondence, Dr Nurain Ayeola, The Medical Officer of Health and Head of the centre, thanked the state government for decentralizing the testing centres.

He said that such development will greatly help in contact tracing and help curb community transmission of the virus.

Ayeola said that the centre is meant to cover Epe LG, Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

He urged residents of these areas with symptoms such as coughing, sneezing and difficulty breathing to visit the centre for sample collection and testing.
