The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has debunked the rumour of a bomb explosion at its State Secretariat during the issuing of forms and screening of Councillorship/ Chairmanship Candidates for the Party’s primaries.

The State Chairman of the party, His Excellency, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, through the publicity secretary of the party, Tambari Sydney Gbara, explained that what happened was just a sound was from across the road facing the party’s secretariat,

“There was no casualty and no destruction was recorded. The incident did not in any way disrupt the activities at the Party’s State headquarters.

“As the only cohesive Party in Rivers State, PDP was able to conduct her primaries in the 319 wards across the State without any form of crisis,” the party said in a statement.

Sydney Gbara further stated that the PDP is one big united family under the able leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike, just as he urged the general public to disregard the report.
