The Egba people came together in Abeokuta to celebrate their yearly Lisabi Festival, held in honour of their brave hero, Lisabi Agbongbo Akala. He is remembered for fighting for the freedom of the Egba people, and the event unites Egba sons and daughters from across the world.
This year’s festival was called Ègbáliganza 2025, combining cultural pride with modern fashion and glamour. The grand finale featured stunning displays of traditional outfits like Ofi, Adire, and other Afrocentric designs.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and Former President Olusegun Obasanjo attended the event, along with other important guests including politicians, Nollywood actors like Richard Mofe-Damijo, and business leaders such as Lai Labode.
Dressed in beautiful aso-oke, agbadas, and colorful gele, guests turned the event into a celebration of Egba culture and heritage. The Alake and high chiefs added a royal touch with their traditional robes and coral beads.
The festival continues to promote unity and cultural pride among the Egba people.
