EKO HOT BLOG reports that in what was expected to be an exciting match-up between two English Premier League (EPL) giants, Manchester City and Liverpool, the game on Saturday, April 1, 2023, turned out to be a one-sided affair with Manchester City emerging victorious with a resounding 4-1 win at the Etihad stadium.
Many had hoped that the fixture would live up to its billing as one of the most anticipated games in the EPL, given the long-standing rivalry between the two teams and the tactical brilliance of their respective managers, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

However, it was not to be, as Liverpool’s poor form this season was once again exposed, leaving many wondering what has become of the team that almost won four trophies last season.
Despite the absence of a few key players, Liverpool had hoped to pull off a surprise victory over Manchester City, and they got off to a good start, with Mohamed Salah scoring in the first 20 minutes of the first half.
However, Liverpool’s consistency of turning a winning advantage into a loss once again reared its ugly head, as they gifted Manchester City a chance to come back into the game shortly before the half-time whistle, with a Julian Alvarez equalizer.
In the second half, Manchester City came out firing on all cylinders, and Liverpool was unable to match their intensity, as Kevin De Bruyne scored a tap-in to put City in the lead, followed by a Gundogan who capitalized on a defensive error to extend Manchester City’s lead.
Jack Grealish further compounded Liverpool’s woes with a fourth goal shortly before the 75th minute, leaving Jurgen Klopp’s team with little hope of making it into the Champions League spot, unless fate gives them another chance.
