The club does not expect Alisson to return before the next international break, scheduled for November 11-19, following a series of league matches.
Before the break, the Premier League leaders will face tough opponents including Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Aston Villa, as well as RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, along with a Carabao Cup match against Brighton.
Caoimhin Kelleher, who missed the match against Palace due to illness, is expected to step in as Alisson’s replacement in goal.
“It is quite clear then that he [Kelleher] is the number two,” said Liverpool boss Arne Slot following the game at Selhurst Park.
“Otherwise, the last time Alisson was injured I would have played Vit, but I played Caoimhin. So Caoimhin is the number two and did really well.”
Kelleher stepped in for Alisson during the 32-year-old’s absence in September, featuring in a league victory against Bournemouth and a League Cup win over West Ham.
After the November international break, Liverpool’s first match will be against Southampton on November 24, followed by encounters with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and local rivals Everton.
