Liverpool solidified their position at the top of the Premier League with a commanding 3-1 victory over Leicester City, overcoming an early setback to move seven points clear.
Struggling Leicester, who had lost five of their previous seven matches, shocked Anfield by taking an early lead in the sixth minute, courtesy of Jordan Ayew’s clinical finish.

The Reds endured a frustrating first half, with Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah both striking the woodwork. Relief came on the brink of half-time as Cody Gakpo curled in a stunning equaliser from the edge of the box.
Buoyed by the equaliser, Liverpool seized control early in the second half. Curtis Jones celebrated his 100th Premier League appearance by converting Alexis Mac Allister’s cross to put the hosts ahead in the 49th minute.

Leicester, now in the relegation zone following Wolves’ earlier victory over Manchester United, squandered a chance to draw level when Patson Daka mis-kicked a golden opportunity. Salah then put the result beyond doubt, slotting home his 19th goal of the season to seal the win.
Liverpool remain in a commanding position, with a game in hand over their closest challengers. They will look to extend their lead to 10 points when they face West Ham on Sunday, while second-placed Chelsea play Ipswich a day later.
