Liverpool vs Man City: My Players Show Champion’s Attitude Despite Loss- Guardiola

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola lauded his players’ performance in their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the English Premier League matchday 12 fixtures on Sunday.

Goals from Brazilian Fabinho in the early minute of the match put the Citizens on pressure as the Egyptian King, Mohammed Salah extends the lead for the Reds in the first.

Saido Mane’s goal takes the game beyond the defending champion with another early goal in the second period of the encounter.

Speaking after the match, Guardiola who seems not to be cool with the centre referee during the course of the match said that his team played like back-to-back champions.

He said, “What happened today we showed why we are champions,” Guardiola told Sky Sports.

“I am so proud of my team, more than ever. We can be proud of how we played against the strongest team in Europe.”

“We played like back-to-back champions,” he added. “We cannot deny how good Liverpool are but the way we played, the personality, it was good.”
