Living Faith Associate Pastor Arrested For Allegedly Defrauding Landmark University Of N19.3m

An associate pastor of the Living Faith Church has been arraigned for allegedly defrauding Landmark University of N19.3 million.

The charges allege that the pastor abused his position as the university’s attorney to cheat and defraud his client.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned an associate pastor of the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), Temidayo Eseyin, for allegedly defrauding Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State of N19.3 million.
Eseyin, a lawyer and former member of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Disciplinary Committee, was docked on a four-count charge bordering on dishonestly misappropriating funds belonging to the university.

The charges allege that Eseyin, while acting as the university’s attorney, abused his position to cheat and defraud his client.
Specifically, the charges allege that Eseyin collected rent for a property belonging to the university for eight years but could not account for the funds. He is also accused of attempting to sell the property without the university’s authorization.

Eseyin pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyer, Femi Makinde, moved an application for bail, which was granted by the court. Eseyin was released on bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in the sum of N5 million each.
The case was adjourned to a date to be communicated to the parties.
