Lockdown: Yam Grows In UNICAL Student’s Hostel (Photos)

A student of the University of Calabar, Jude Asuquo has raised an alarm over an unusual occurence in his hostel.

A yam plantation is already trying to grow in his room after he left some tubers of the yam since April when the Federal Government ordered the closure of all academic institutions in wake of the pandemic.

Due to the prolonged school closure, the yams however have germinated and the stems grown covering everywhere from the bed to the window.
