EKO HOT BLOG reports that former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has expressed his excitement over the appointment of Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s interim manager.
Lampard, who spent his final days as a player at Manchester City, was announced as the new manager of Chelsea following the sacking of Graham Potter.
Vincent Kompany, who now manages Burnley, praised the decision of the Blues hierarchy to bring back Lampard to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Kompany described Lampard as knowledgeable, with a good heart and character. He also added that he was happy for his old teammate to be back in the dugout with the Blues.
The Belgian defender, who played with Lampard at Manchester City during the 2014-2015 season, spoke highly of the new Chelsea boss, saying, “Definitely in my time as a player he was someone I looked up to, so it’s good he’s got the job.”
