EKO HOT BLOG reports that Labour Party (LP) chieftain Morris Monye criticized Nigeria’s healthcare system, citing it as substandard, in response to the death of Nollywood actor Junior Pope.
The actor, along with three others, was involved in a tragic boat mishap on the Anam River in Anambra state while returning from a movie location.
Despite initial reports of his survival, a subsequent update confirmed his passing.

Monye expressed disappointment in the medical assistance provided, underscoring the challenges within Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking via X, he wrote, “The healthcare in this country is in an unpropitious state of miasmic decay. “This whole Junior Pope saga highlights that we are in trouble.”
