Lagos State Government Backs Destination Lagos Awards, Oju Ibile Eko Beauty Pageant 2024

The Lagos State Government has officially endorsed the Destination Lagos Awards (DELA) and the Oju Ibile Eko Beauty Pageant for 2024.

Eko hot blog reports that the endorsement was announced by Mr. Samson Apata, a renowned figure in Lagos tourism, in a statement released today.

Apata, who leads Eko Destination Ltd and is also the Director of Eko Online Radio and Chairman of the Association of Tourism Practitioners (ATPN) in Lagos, emphasized that the endorsement is aimed at elevating Lagos’ cultural heritage and establishing a global brand.

He highlighted that the DELA and the beauty pageant will serve as a platform to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the city’s tourism sector.

“The DELA awards will shine a spotlight on Lagos’ rich cultural landscape, celebrating achievements in areas such as cultural heritage, hospitality, creative arts, and museum management,” Apata stated.

“This inaugural event will unfold in three phases from September to October 2024, offering a comprehensive showcase of Lagos’ unique cultural and tourism assets.”

The events are set to feature various activities, including a beauty pageant, cultural exhibitions, and talent showcases, all designed to highlight the authentic spirit of Lagos.
