Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL) has joined forces with the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) to ensure that all construction projects in the metropolis meet the highest safety standards.
This dynamic partnership aims to eradicate building collapses and guarantee structurally sound edifices.
At a recent forum with Town Planning Executives at the LASPPPA Office in Ikeja, LSMTL’s General Manager, Engr. Olayinka Abdul, emphasized her agency’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and properties through rigorous materials testing.
“Building collapses are a professional embarrassment to skilled Engineers, and this partnership with LASPPPA will expedite technical processes to prevent such incidents,” she stressed.

Engr. Abdul highlighted LSMTL’s mandate in scrutinizing building materials and revealed that the agency is enhancing its systems to validate results, ensuring global recognition and credibility.

LASPPPA’s General Manager, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, emphasized that all remodelling and structural procedures in Lagos State require thorough testing to guarantee safety.
