The General Manager of Lagos State Printing Corporation, Mr. Sakirudeen Odusanya recently led the Management Staff of the Corporation on a courtesy visit to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) as part of efforts to establish an improved working relationship with the newly constituted Executive Board at its Head Office in Maryland, Lagos.
In his remarks, Odusanya applauded the appointment of the new board members, noting that the appointees have integrity and wished them a very successful tenure.
He stressed that the Lagos State Government had invested heavily to equip the Corporation with state-of-the-art machines for improved quality services to the State and beyond.
The General Manager, therefore, appealed to the Board for increased patronage for optimum utilisation of its equipment, noting that its Bielomatik machine has a very high capacity to print all exercise books needed by school pupils all over Nigeria, but is currently underutilised due to low patronage.
While calling for an enhanced and stronger synergy between the two organisations in the overall interest of the State, Odusanya pledged that the Corporation will soon donate 10,000 exercise books to the Board for onward distribution to students of public schools in the State.
The Chairman of LSUBEB, Mr. Wahab Alawiye King, represented by an Executive Board Member, Mr. Temidayo Israel received the visiting team on behalf of the Board and commended the management of the Corporation for its success in changing the face of the printing industry in Lagos State.
He expressed the readiness of the Board to collaborate with the Corporation, promising to do everything possible to explore a partnership that will strengthen the relationship between the two establishments for development of basic education in Lagos State.
“With the audacious intervention and procurement of the state-of-the-art equipment by the Lagos State Government for the Corporation in 2017 and subsequent improvement in productivity, the Board cannot do without the support of the Lagos State Printing Corporation for the planning, management and improvement of basic education in Lagos State”, he asserted
